‘El Turco’ quickest halfway through Misano’s Day 2 of Testing ahead of Bulega and Sam Lowes, Manzi tests atop Yamaha R1
Razgatlioglu’s time of 1’32.744s punched his ticket to the top of the timesheet in the second-to-last session of the Misano Test
Ahead of the Pirelli Emilia-Romagna Round, the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship’s riders have returned to the garages for a short break for lunch ahead of the final Free Practice 4 of the pair of testing days. So far on day two, two of the top three positions remain the same, with Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) topping the session ahead of Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team) and Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati), opening his Misano Test strong in P2 after not participating in Day 1. Stefano Manzi (Yamaha Test Team) was also on track atop a Yamaha R1 instead of his regular WorldSSP Yamaha R9.

Eager to whittle away Bulega’s 31-point Riders’ Championship lead, ‘El Turco’ has been consistently very strong at Misano, his FP3 1’32.744s time was not as fast as his FP2 1’32.559s from yesterday, however, enough to top the session. Just over a tenth of a second behind him, Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) will look to stamp out the idea of a Championship comeback and land a statement win for Ducati at their home round in a few weeks. His time of 1’32.892s was enough to claim P2 in front of Ducati Independent rider Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team), who registered a time of 1’33.176s to place P3.
Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) and Remy Gardner (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team) happened to record fastest laps with the same time, down to the thousandth of a second of 1’33.176s to share P4. Iker Lecuona (Honda HRC) followed onto the timesheet, running relatively few laps with 38, the fastest among them being a 1’33.382s for P5. Jonathan Rea (Pata Maxus Yamaha) was next-fastest on the session, clocking in at P6 with his time of 1’33.396s. The veteran rider reacclimating to the bike after his injury, running the second-most laps of all riders on track with 56. Stefano Manzi laid down 47 laps on the WorldSBK-calibre bike, his fastest time of 1’35.267s placed him above Tarran Mackenzie (PETRONAS MIE Honda Racing Team) and a host of test riders.
